On Wednesday the 12th of February, the University of Santiago de Compostela’s Institute of Agricultural Biodiversity and Rural Development (Ibader) presented the Life+ Tremedal project to students taking the vocational education courses “Forestry and environmental management”, “The environment and environmental conservation” and “Forestry and environmental conservation work” at the IES de Arzúa secondary education institute (Arzúa, A Coruña). These students are being trained in activities related to the natural environment and so were shown practical cases of work performed to conserve biodiversity in protected natural areas. This activity formed part of the dissemination work for the European project Life+Tremedal to raise awareness about the importance of peatlands and wet environments in the north of the Iberian Peninsula and the restoration work being carried out.
