Wetland conservation and management days in Santiago de Compostela
As part of the LIFE+ TREMEDAL project’s dissemination and training actions, the Institute of Agricultural Biodiversity and Rural Development (IBADER) ran a series of work days in Santiago de Compostela focusing on the importance of conserving and managing wetlands.
The aim was to publicise the importance of wetlands to the conservation of biodiversity and the current state of these environments, and to present the specific conservation actions to be taken to help maintain their ecological value.
A number of researchers from Galician universities, managers of natural areas and other experts on wetland conservation and management all took part. In addition to presenting the actions developed as part of the LIFE+ Tremedal project, two other LIFE projects were also covered: the LIFE+ Margal-Ulla and the LIFE+ Higro.
